Artists & Scientists working together

Arlene Tucker is an artist and educator interested in adding play elements to daily life through her art. Inspired by translation studies, animals and nature, she finds ways to connect and make meaning in our shared environments. Often her artworks create spaces for dialogue to be opened and to be divulged, making way for interpretations and surprises to flourish. Check out more in her website!

Stephany Mazon is a PhD researcher in the field of climate and air quality at University of Helsinki. She works with Pan-Eurasian Experiment (PEEX) project and is a member of science communication group The Science Basement. She believes that researchers should provide society the tools they need to make informed decisions. She gave a TEDx talk on the importance of science communication!

Climate change is an immediate concern, which is why we created Story Data! From the natural sciences perspective, it is important to create a space that allows one to be critical of received information and to show how conclusions, in themselves, can be limited by the available data.  People’s meaning-making-process is personal and in Story Data, one has the possibility to approach research from a creative and socially inclusive way.
